Product Stewardship Strategies for Local Governments

On July 22, 2011, Seattle Public Utilities, the NWPSC and EPA Region 10 convened a conference to provide elected officials, local government policy staff, and solid waste industry stakeholders with an understanding of product stewardship, an overview of product stewardship policies and regulations currently in place in the U.S. and Canada, and an introduction to the kinds of local and state product stewardship legislation that may be used to reduce waste and increase recycling. The conference featured presentations by experts with hands-on experience in developing and managing product stewardship programs at the Canadian provincial and local government level.

EPA Region 10’s webinar recording is available here and the presentations are available below as PDF files.
