"Thomas Lindhqvist’s work in environmental economics is what our model of product stewardship is based on here in B.C.," said RCBC Executive Director Brock Macdonald. "If you want to gain insight into EPR and have the opportunity to meet the most influential figure in product stewardship today, this is your chance."
Thomas Lindhqvist has researched product stewardship policy since 1984 and has the distinction of coining the "phrase Extended Producer Responsibility" (EPR).
Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics at Lund University in Sweden, where he earned a PhD from publishing, "Extended Producer Responsibility in Cleaner Production". He has written extensively on EPR and is a primary contributor to the OECD’s EPR work program.

Strategies and Tools for Green Procurement

- Description: Federal, state and local governments are facing increased complexity with creating and managing green procurement strategies. This webinar is meant to give an overview of some of the key challenges institutions are facing for green purchasing and provide information on tools and resources that organizations around the country are using to overcome these challenges. The presentation will cover specific web-based tools, calculators, information resources, reporting mechanisms, and other resources that you can use to help implement and manage green procurement. The webinar will also include a demonstration of Greencurement, a new tool to help purchasers identify products that meet their specifications and increase compliance with green purchasing.
